Hello!
Conscious Art for Change began not as collective, but as a movement. A movement of truth-telling, vulnerability, and creative resistance. In 2020, founder Quincy launched an open mic called "Speak Your Truth" in downtown Orlando, held in the heart of a local restaurant named Jam-Eng. What started as a safe space for self-expression quickly transformed into a powerful platform for the unheard.
At the time, Quincy- an artist, organizer, and queer creative needed a place to process and express deeply personal experiences. That need was shared by many. Speak Your Truth became more than a mic, it became a community, but nit just this it became a family. A haven for those who had been silenced. A springboard for new voices. A space for creative resilence, community care, and growth.
But it wasn’t just built on pain or struggle. It was also built on family and collective joy.. on laughter, late-night conversations, spontaneous dance breaks, cyphers and the kind of love that only art can make room for.
Many of the artists who first took the mic at Speak Your Truth have since gone on to build their own creative paths, launch initiatives, and even become part of the leadership that now shapes Conscious Art for Change. What made the space special then continues to ground our work now: radical acceptance, queer-affirmation, artistic growth, and community care. From those early nights, Conscious Art for Change has evolved into a full-fledged movement producing performances, workshops, exhibitions, and Culture healing-centered events across Central Florida. We've partnered with nonprofits, and grassroots groups to use spoken word, music, visual art, and performance as tools of awareness, empowerment, and justice.
Today, our mission is to empower artists and communities through conscious, creative expression. We believe art is not just a form of entertainment, it is a tool of transformation.
